Flycatcher Castle in Mpumalanga
The Castle surrounded by beautiful scenic wonders.

The Castle is perched on the edge of the Drakensberg escarpment, centrally situated in Mpumalanga. We are close to beautiful scenic wonders such as God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the world renowned Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels, the Pinnacle as well as spectacular waterfalls such as the Forest, Lisbon, Mac-Mac, Berlin and Lone Creek. The Kruger National Park is less than an hour’s drive away.
Get spoiled in opulent luxury, escape into our art gallery, rekindle the flame, feed your soul... only a few minutes' drive from South Africa's most beautiful natural wonders.
The accommodation consists of five individually decorated suites named after classical composers. All the bedroom furniture are antique while the en-suite vanities feature modern free standing baths, spacious walk-in showers and toilets.
The Castle perfectly compliments its surroundings and reflects our awareness and love of nature, with beautiful views across the Mantitshi wetland and river. Our home mirrors this peacefulness as the rooms do not have televisions but rather echo Nature’s calls. Found within our garden is a little Eden with a colony of dwarf chameleons, half a dozen of frog species and a variety of birds.

| My friend Merrill and I have just enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the most superb "getaway" The Flycatcher Castle" in Graskop.
Our hosts Michael and Manie warmly welcomed us into their home, for that,s what it is, we had no idea of what to expect, but a Sherry and tasty warm nuts soon put us at ease. Michael gave us a personal tour of the Castle, our suite was the Strauss, the sheer luxury of the room really pleased us. Then a slow walk thru the Art Gallery admiring Manie's art and sculptures, then surprise, surprise we were given a visit to
The Chapel, the life size figure of Christ, the Stations of the Cross were to say the least, breathtaking!!! And very uplifting
A welcome cup of tea in the reading room was a real unwinding session for us after having driven for the East Rand.
We enjoyed superlative four course meals in the Rosenkavalier Restaurant, served by Michael our Chef, where nothing was to much trouble.
We were only at the Castle for two days but felt sad when we had to leave, we felt we,d made two very good friends, had a genuine relaxing period and were treated in a very special way. The map provided by Flycatcher Castle is excellent as one travel along the N4 and the road is in very good condition. I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMMEND A STAY AT THE CASTLE. |
