Greatbatch is a historic building designed by Daniel Westwood Greatbatch in the early 1890’s as his residence. It is the second visit point on the Belgravia historic walk.
This architect was responsible for various buildings in Kimberley: the Savoy Hotel, de Beers Head Office, The Synagogue, Dunluce (house of John Orr), the residence of Sir Ernest Oppenheimer-birthplace of Sir Harry Oppenheimer, The Sanatorium (now McGregor Museum) all of which is in walking distance from the Guest House.
The rooms are named after architects who also played a huge role in Kimberley i.e. Sydney Stent, Carstairs Rogers and William Timlin.
All rooms have colour DSTV, split air - conditioners, bar fridges as well as tea/coffee making facilities. The flat-lets have in addition microwave ovens installed.
Sydney Stent Room is a Luxury En-Suite. Some of his designs include Curry House, Kenilworth Village, and Kimberley Club and copies are displayed in this room.
