Awake in the mornings to breakfast on our sun-soaked verandah and enjoy the silence – only interrupted by the sounds of farm animals, birds and the bubbling river. Gaze in awe at the mountain views and plan your day.

Wild Mountain Adventures offers you a wide range of activities for you to choose from including hiking, mountain biking, horse trails, fly-fishing for wild trout, birding, skiing at Tiffindell (in winter), river rafting and tubing (in summer), 4x4 Trails and overnight camping trips.

Guests of all ages will love our gentle riverside walks, complete with natural swimming pools, jacuzzis and San rock art sites - ideal for a picnic lunch. We offer family-friendly adjoining rooms and parents will be able to truly relax whilst their children run around in freedom and safety.

As night falls, you can relax in front of a roaring log fire in our cosy lounge. Alternatively, you can braai outside and gaze up at the stars, so clear that you feel you can reach out and touch t

Millard's stone lodge was originally built in 1910 and has been lovingly restored and renovated to become a comfortable "home from home".

Facilities include:
•5 bedrooms sleeping 10 in total. 2 of the rooms are en-suite
•Fully equipped kitchen with "Esse" anthracite stove and microwave
•Lounge with open fireplace and dining room
•2 patios (one covered) and braai facilities
•Electric blankets in all rooms. Linen provided and fully serviced.

Fly-Fishing for Wild Trout
Fly-Fishing for Wild Trout on the Diepspuit River at Millard
This area of the Eastern Cape Drakensberg is world famous for its fly-fishing with over 200kms of streams filled with wild trout.

The Diepsruit that flows through Millard Farm is an excellent fly-fishing river and is well stocked with wild trout.

Reknowned fly fisherman Tom Sutcliffe had this to say about fishing in the area:


"There are good streams here, streams that are small and cosy; tight streams with clear water and strong trout. The Diepspruit is an example, and there are others, like the Willow and the Jochim, all within easy reach. Added to this is the larger Kraai, with rainbows, browns and smallmouth yellowfish. These streams are more dominated by their landscapes, the valleys they flow through, than other streams I know of hereabouts, landscapes that are abundant, almost so splendid you can't find the words to describe them. You would call these rivers nymphing waters, though one of the best fish I ever had when it came to raw power I took from the Diepspru
