Coast to coast for food and cocktails - On the Rocks - Part 2

January 10, 2018

Everything you need to know about the gorgeous views and location of this venue is in the name. You can take in all of Table Mountain, Robben Island and Cape Town in this child friendly open-air restaurant.

Treat yourself to eight, twelve or sixteen deep sea prawns with buttered new potatoes, a dressed salad and harissa aioli.

Follow that up with a baked cheese cake sporting a delicious ginger crust and berry coulis, while watching the water lap against rocks practically at your feet.

The restaurant has been in uninterrupted operation for over fifty six years, and have shown a non-stop commitment to improvement and service, but either way, the view alone pays for itself.

Coast to coast for food and cocktails - The Grand Africa Café & Beach - Part 1

January 09, 2018

An artfully restored boathouse is the shell within which this stunning restaurant resides. Central, on the waters edge and easily accessible, The Grand Africa Café & Beach marries convenience with the perfect location.

Aside from the beautiful space, they are no slouch in the kitchen or behind the bar either.

You can’t go wrong with the Grand burger, a pure beef patty with rocket, red onion, gherkin, tomato chutney, smoked cheddar and garlic aioli.

Wash that down with a Grand African Tiki, Havana Especial with a bold twist of 7 Rum, Malibu, mango, mint and coconut.

The ambience is relaxed yet cosmopolitan, the fresh air off the water is amazing, so are the sparkles on the sea.

Café Caprice

A vast menu, of both cocktails and food, DJ’s, gilded sidewalk café culture and an enviable position with an amazing view. Try the Jo-Honey Rooibos, honey infused Bacardi Oakheart, with BOS tea, cranberry juice and grapefruit zest, it’s mellow and deep, be careful though, these can creep up on you ;-)

Sandy B

Sandy B at The Bay Hotel is the intersection of summer and elegance, it’s being poolside, and beachside, at the same time. We highly recommend the iconic and signature Hibiscus & Rooibos martini, with gin, hibiscus extracts, lime, cranberry extracts and rooibos tea, it’s local flavours at an international level.
