Also, you could spot Civet,Mongoose, Porcupine, Caracal and three species of Antelope, they take their nature conservation seriously here 😊

There is only need for one picnic and that is Eleanor’s Picnic stuffed with food to feed the soul, it consists of the following. Eleanor’s famous snoek paté, roast pepper humus, the best locally produced cheeses, Tiropita (a Greek style cheese pie), tasty salami and parma ham, Scotch egg and a Jar of salad filled with chickpeas, roasted tomato and spinach salad. Accompanied by baby vegetable crudités with a feta & herb dip, delicious baked breads and of course a home-made salted caramel brownie.

Perfect picnics in the Cape - Picnic at Allée Bleue Wine Estate - Part 2

November 22, 2017

Allée Bleue Wine Estate is a well-established wedding and function venue, and part of the reason for this is the unmistakably beautiful surroundings created by the combination of ancient oak trees and the beautiful Drakenstein Mountains.

The kids will be well entertained by the fresh air and roaming space, also, the jungle gym, jumping castle and sandpit should keep them busy.

The Standard Picnic basket contains a delicious Beef Stroganoff pie with a creamy mushroom and pepper sauce and a farm-grown micro-herb salad served with an Allée Bleue Cabernet/Merlot wine reduction dressing and Pecorino cheese shavings.

The best bit of the basket is the Allée Bleue farm style cheese platter which consists of a selection of local cheeses and cold meats, freshly-baked bread and fruited dry melba toast served with home-made smoked olive tapenade, aniseed onion marmalade, chilli tomato chutney and basil pesto.

As a bonus, you will receive farm grown olives and creamy yoghurt balls.

Come for the view, stay for the pie 😊
