Situated in ‘the Village’ area of Hout Bay, Delish Restaurant has long been a popular social haunt in the Hout Bay Valley and has become a landmark for its sumptuous breakfasts, lunches and more recently, its dinners.

The restaurant is owned by Shirley & Brett Nussey, who have been residents in Hout Bay for the past 18 years, and decided to treat the locals with a venue that offers a warm and relaxed atmosphere by combining culinary excellence with contemporary style.

This popular meeting spot has recently undergone several changes to increase seating capacity and to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the cold Cape winter nights. Facilities include a kids play area, a fireplace which warms the entire restaurant and two lounge areas where guests can stretch out over a cup of coffee and a newspaper.

Housed in a 120 year old farmhouse in Beach Crescent Road in Hout Bay is Delish Restaurant, a fully licensed home-from-home restaurant and deli with gourmet cooking to satisfy every palate.

The ambiance is warm, relaxed and casual; the long-serving staff are like a welcoming family; and the aroma of good food well-cooked will have you taking deep breaths in anticipation of your meal.

As befits its laidback persona, Delish Restaurant offers an authentic and affordable dining experience using only the freshest local ingredients to enhance our ever-changing culinary creations, wines from the top boutique wineries in the Western Cape (including Hout Bay Valley), and plates of wholesome, satisfying fare with sophisticated international flavours.

A deli is also incorporated into the restaurant, and various culinary treats can be bought to take home.

The menu changes weekly, allowing diners to experience a wide variety of dishes that reflect the best seasonal offerings we are able to acquire at the time.

The Delish Cuisine Cookery School offers a selection of popular and entertaining courses and recipes devoted to recreational cooking education. The school offers daily hands-on and demonstration cooking classes for the home or recreational cook.

We also offer specialised courses such as Vegetarian courses, one-off singles evenings and other specialised course. Our classes are intimate and interactive and new themes are introduced regularly. Classes vary from beginners, advanced and specialist courses to special events and customised travel. Classes may also be customised to your group requirements to include cooking skill classes, market visits, food selection, kitchen management and beginner’s tips.

The Delish Cuisine Cooking School teaches demonstration and participation cooking classes, in which students get to roll up their sleeves and do some serious cooking! At the end of each class, everyone gets to enjoy the fruits (soups, salads or curries) of their labours. Its personal enrichment and a good meal rolled into one!
