Situated in the Ambassador Hotel, with floor to ceiling glass windows unfolding to reveal the fresh sea breeze.
Distinguished by impeccable service and classic, contemporary décor, Salt Restaurant serves simple, approachable, honest food in an easy-dining atmosphere, complemented by an extensive wine list of 70 wines, all available by the glass.
With its prime position on the rocks of Bantry Bay, Salt is the only place in Cape Town to truly savour our glorious sunsets in such style and elegance.
Diners may choose from the cocktail menu that offers a lively mix of delicious liquid taste sensations, such as Salt Sunset and Berry Press.
The menu features dishes that are unpretentious, drawing on Modern South African styles with French influences.
The menu which changes bi-monthly, places much emphasis on the use of fresh local ingredients, integrating colour into the presentation and creating exciting flavour combinations.
The wine list has been designed to showcase South Africa’s highest quality wines. Made up of approximately 70 entries, each carefully selected on the basis of quality and food-friendliness.
The wine list incorporates wines which have received Michelangelo awards (silver and gold), Veritas awards and John Platter ratings (3½* and more) to offer exceptional quality at several price intervals.
Wine Preservation
Having installed a highly efficient wine preservation system, Salt is able to offer all wines on the list, by the glass.
This innovation is designed to inspire diners to experiment with food and wine combinations to further enhance their dining experience.

| I come to south africa almost every 6 months i have a house in kloof neck. It is with pleasure that i say the service at Salt is unbeatable.
The food is very good but always there is room to improve.
My family and i have dined in many 5 star restaurants around the world, and Salt is in my top 10.
It is a lovely place to entertain guests and enjoy the Cape's finest wines.
I will be back. |

| Friends visiting from overseas prompted us to book a table at a new and interesting restaurant in the week before Christmas – one which we definitely can recommend. Peter Goffe-Wood put the adventurous menu together and the chef carries it out to perfection. |
